Fogolars Federation Of Canada

The Fogolârs Federation is a non-profit organization, founded in 1974 to encompass 16 Fogolârs (Friulian Clubs) from across Canada, some of which were founded more than 80 years ago.

Mandate of the Federation:
-    To promote and preserve Friulian cultural heritage in Canada
-    To promote Canadian values exemplifying the theory, practice and principle of good government and good citizenship. To accomplish this, the Fogolârs Federation of Canada coordinates activities of Friulian clubs in Canada, publishes a national magazine, awards national literary prizes, assists in the administration of various scholarships, sponsors and organizes exhibits across Canada, and is deeply involved in promoting national and international charitable activities
-    To promote trade between Friuli and Canada, facilitate business contacts and actively promote business and academic exchanges between Canada and Friuli V.G

Since its founding in 1974 the Fogolârs Federation of Canada has organized a biennial Congress in Canadian cities offering a unique opportunity for Friulian-Canadians from across the country to exchange ideas and reflect on issues of importance to them in Canada.

Friulian Canadians are spread across Canada. While the first-generation Friulians were pioneers and nation builders who, embracing the new nation, were instrumental in its development by working in mines, building railways and major construction projects, their descendants have now created numerous business, and have produced many political and academic leaders as well.
